Reading Goals: 1.We will read on Level 16 or above by the end of the year.
2.We will write 5 good sentences on 1 topic. Our sentences will have the correct punctuation and capital letters. the words we have learned in first grade will be spelled correctly.

Class Announcements WELCOME TO FIRST GRADEWelsome to first grade in room 107. At this time we have 23 students. We will be doing reading testing over the next few weeks. Some of it will be group tests but most of it will be individual testing. when the tests are finished I will set up the reading groups so we can begin our daily lessons.
The children brought home their homework in their composition book. This will be weekly homework that deals with a word family. The first is the -at family. The children are to do 4 of the activies listed on the homework sheet. If it is something that can be done in the book please do it in their or send the activity in side the book (typing the words on the computer. If it is an activity that isn't done on paper (spelling the words to an adult) just initial that item on the sheet. the book should be sent in every Friday. We are also working on word wall words. There will be 5 new words each week. I will send home a strip of words each Monday. These should be kept in a safe place so they can be practiced each day at home. On Friday we will have a test on both sets of words. If your child has a birthday and you want to celebrate with the class you can send in a small item that can be passed out at lunch.
